Working on The Santa Clauses was a bit surreal since I can remember watching the original movie as a child. Each set was conceptualized with a SKP model, and myself and two other set designers were responsible for breaking down the model into build plans. I particularly worked on the Workshop which was going to be shot on a LED Volume Screen. This would be my first time working on a digital set and it was pretty amazing to be working with ILM. Not only was I responsible for modeling the overall interior structure of the workshop and handing it off to ILM, I also had to draft the practical parts of the set we needed to build in order to tie in to the digital set being projected on the Volume.
